Introducing an empowering and inclusive view of resilience.

Feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or numb amidst life’s challenges?
You’re not alone. Every day, we face personal, professional, and relational hurdles and larger global issues impacting our collective well-being. It all takes a toll on our mental, emotional, and physical health.
If you’ve struggled to find effective, sustainable ways to cope with the stress of life, it’s not your fault! Most approaches to healing focus too much on the individual, don’t adapt to your needs and circumstances and ignore the big issues that affect us all. With Resilience for Liberation, you’ll explore an approach to resilience that is inclusive, supportive, and empowering for everyone.

We understand that life is challenging and that traditional approaches to building resilience can be isolating and unhelpful. Our workshop is different. We focus on understanding how societal factors impact our wellbeing and how we can support ourselves and each other to create positive change in our lives and our world.

The concepts presented are so valuable, especially at this time in history. As a BIPOC woman, this content really resonated and I want to share it with other BIPOC femmes in my life.

I was soaking in every word. This felt like the "key" to unlocking ways of being, ongoing healing, and the collective transformation that is deeply needed

- Ti Wilhelm

The analysis of what individual resilience can and can't accomplish in the midst of toxic systems was SO POWERFUL.

From beginning to end it felt like the space was led with compassion and openness paired with a holding and direction. I was touched by the deep acknowledgment of what is wrong in the systems we live in, and what is not possible in oppressive systems, while still giving tools for healing. Hope that is rooted in reality.

Resilience is often defined as the ability to bounce back from adversity, suggesting that building resilience is a personal and punishing experience.
This individualized definition of resilience is problematic because it can lead to feelings of shame and inadequacy for people who struggle to recover from challenging situations. It also fails to take into account the circumstances that make people vulnerable in the first place!
Our approach to resilience is different. We consider the impact of systemic factors on our individual and collective resilience. And we offer an approach to growing personal resilience that supports us in setting boundaries and creating meaningful change in ourselves, our families, our workplaces, our communities, and beyond.
Our goal? Reduce stress and grow resilience so we have the capacity to change the systems that are causing us harm.

“I want to be resilient, and I want the world to be soft and gentle.”

Nope. If you’d like to continue to learn with us following Resilience for Liberation, you can join an Introduction to The Resilience Toolkit series; it’s an offer, not an ask.
