Dawn Utsumi (she/her) is a Consultant-Special Projects at Lumos Transforms. Dawn has a B.A. in Art & Archaeology from Princeton University and a Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law.
Dawn is an accomplished attorney who has represented clients across a wide range of high-stakes cases in state and federal court. She has extensive experience in areas including complex commercial disputes, trade secrets, securities fraud, insurance, government investigations, and employment matters.
Prior to joining Lumos Transforms, Dawn was a judicial extern for the Supreme Court of Argentina in Buenos Aires, served as a judicial law clerk in the U.S. District Court, Central District of California, and worked for several years at a multinational Am Law 100. During her time in BigLaw, Dawn developed an interest in the experiences of women of color in the legal profession, and in particular, their high attrition rates and the ways that bias and stereotyping may manifest in their personal and working lives. She looks forward to continuing her explorations with Lumos Transforms.
