Cibele Sousa (she/her) is a Portuguese-English bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified TRE Provider, Certified Facilitator of The Resilience Toolkit, and Certified Reconnect Integrative Trauma Treatment Model (RITTM) practitioner. She received her Master’s degree in Psychology and Business with a specialization in Counseling and Human Resources (HR) development from California State University Northridge.

Cibele’s holistic approach assists clients to achieve personal growth and healing. She believes that the mind and body have different languages and her work focuses on how we can help the two communicate. She has completed numerous evidence-based training in the treatment of trauma including Brainspotting, EMDR, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), NeuroAffective Touch, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT).

In her early career, Cibele worked with infants and young children experiencing developmental challenges; educating parents about healthy early attachment, teaching Infant Massage, and leading activities at a convalescent hospital. Since then, Cibele has gone on to work with adults, families, and children from a wide variety of backgrounds including people healing from abuse, navigating adoption issues, and people living with chronic illness and low immunity.

Cibele has been involved in a variety of volunteer projects such as painting/repairing schools, Heal the Bay, Cedar-Sinai Kidshape program, Stephen Ministries, and fundraising for programs related to domestic violence and children safety. In 2016 she received the Halo Award from the Carl & Roberta Deutsch Foundation for Exemplary Volunteer Service at Strength United.

Cibele enjoys starting her day saluting the sun, listening to the sound of tree branches waking up with the breeze, and watching hummingbirds kiss the colorful flowers. As she walks by the ocean, she listens to the sound of the waves breaking and observes the sandpipers quickly moving their tiny legs as the waves come and go. When the day closes with another beautiful sunset, she welcomes the rising energy of the moon bringing light to the infinite universe and possibilities.
