For more than a year, the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS) has been engaged in an ambitious Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Antiracism (EDIA) Initiative to transform systemic policies and practices that have contributed to inequitable employment and patient care at DHS.
A key focus of this Initiative is engaging community members and community-based organizations in the creation of an EDIA plan for DHS. The purpose of the second round of EDIA listening sessions is to gather patient input on the draft EDIA Strategic Plan. We will present the plan’s objectives and measures and ask a few simple questions to learn what you think works well, which issues need more attention, and if you think the plan is a solid foundation for DHS to build on in becoming a more diverse, equitable, inclusive, and antiracist enterprise.
The virtual listening session is 90 minutes long and will take place over Zoom. In recognition of the value of your time and feedback, we will email all participants a $50 electronic Visa gift card within two weeks of the session.

Durante más de un año, el Departamento de Servicios de Salud del Condado de Los Ángeles (DHS) ha estado involucrado en una ambiciosa Iniciativa de Equidad, Diversidad, Inclusión y Antirracismo (EDIA) para transformar las políticas y prácticas sistémicas que han contribuido al empleo y la atención al paciente inequitativos en DHS.
Un enfoque clave de esta iniciativa es involucrar a los miembros de la comunidad y las organizaciones comunitarias en la creación de un plan EDIA para el DHS. El propósito de la segunda ronda de sesiones de escucha de EDIA es recopilar las opiniones de los pacientes sobre el borrador del Plan Estratégico de EDIA. Presentaremos los objetivos y las medidas del plan y haremos algunas preguntas sencillas para saber qué crees que funciona bien, qué problemas necesitan más atención y si crees que el plan es una base sólida para que el DHS se convierta en una empresa más diversa, equitativa, incluyente y antirracista.
La sesión de escucha virtual tiene una duración de 90 minutos y se llevará a cabo a través de Zoom.
