Over the past year and a half, our Palestine Solidarity Pod offered space for deep learning, connection, and collective resourcing. Through these gatherings, we’ve been reminded again and again that the struggle for Palestinian liberation is not isolated—it’s inseparable from broader global movements against oppression, colonization, militarism, and empire.
Now, in the face of escalating violence, political repression, and interlocking crises across the globe, we’re evolving this work to meet the moment.
We’re proud to introduce Meeting the Moment: Political Solidarity Group—a dedicated space for people to come together across movements and geographies to deepen political education, grow in principled solidarity, and support one another in both grief and vision. This isn’t a departure from Palestine. It’s an expansion. Our solidarity remains rooted in Palestine while widening to include Sudan, Congo, Turtle Island, and all lands under occupation.
This transformation came after months of reflection and conversation within our community. We asked: How can we better support each other across struggles? How do we stay principled while staying expansive? How can we organize for liberation—not in isolation, but in community?
Meeting the Moment is our answer.
What It Is
Meeting the Moment is more than just a weekly call—it’s a vibrant, living space for political solidarity within our private Mighty Networks community.
There are two ways to engage:
🌱 Weekly drop-in sessions
Facilitated by Desiree Magsombol, Devika Shankar, and Gia Mariam Hasan, our lightly guided Zoom sessions take place every Monday. These gatherings create space for peer support, collective reflection, and embodied resourcing. Together, we’ll explore pressing issues like global fascism, anti-militarism, and liberation, while dreaming up new systems rooted in care, accessibility, and solidarity.
💬 Asynchronous community space
Can’t make the live meetings? No problem. Inside our Mighty Networks, you’ll find an active forum where conversation continues all week long. Share insights, pose questions, offer resources, and connect with others who are also working to understand and transform the systems we’re all navigating. The relationships and learning don’t end when the call ends—they deepen over time.
Why Now?
From Gaza to Congo, Sudan to Atlanta, the violence of empire is ongoing—and interconnected. In this moment of political repression and humanitarian crisis, we cannot afford to treat our struggles as separate. Our liberation is bound together.
Solidarity, when rooted in love and clarity, becomes a strategy for survival—and for building something better.
As Bettina L. Love reminds us,
“Theory does not solve issues—only action and solidarity can do that—but theory gives you language to fight, knowledge to stand on, and a humbling reality of what intersectional social justice is up against.”
Meeting the Moment exists to help us build that knowledge, connection, and capacity—together.
Themes We’ll Explore
- Resisting authoritarianism, militarism, and empire
- Deconstructing systems of control, hierarchy, and oppression
- Imagining alternative economies rooted in care and justice
- Organizing for peace and collective security outside of state violence
- Building collective power through skill-sharing and mutual aid
- Resourcing through art, poetry, embodiment, and imagination
Each month we’ll rotate between deconstruction and worldbuilding, balancing analysis with vision, grief with imagination, and rage with love.
