A somatic trauma-informed training series for public health community partners
Join us for this in-depth, interactive 3-session virtual trauma-informed training series specifically designed for public health community partners and facilitated by Lumos Transforms.
In this course, you will learn to:
- Appreciate the role of the embodied Trauma Informed Resilience Oriented (eTIRO) approach in public health administration and service delivery
- Understand the lineage of the eTIRO approach and articulate the core eTIRO goals and principles
- Illustrate the stress-trauma continuum’s expression and impacts on the somatic, emotional, mental, behavioral, and relational levels
- Examine how interpersonal, community, cultural, and historical sources of trauma and resilience influence individuals, families, institutions, and systems
- Understand the role of resilience in trauma healing and recovery
- Begin to develop embodied resilience necessary for effective eTIRO implementation
- Identify, track, attune to stress, trauma, and relaxation responses in others for improved co-regulation and empathy with colleagues and community members
- Explore strategies for prevention and mitigation of vicarious trauma and burnout to improve professional quality of life and capacity for eTIRO implementation
- Explore the interconnections between the eTIRO approach and the movements for social justice and health equity
Sessions will meet in person on March 27th, April 12th, and April 22nd from 9:00am to 12:30pm Pacific Time.
