Community Chat with Ambreen Tariq

Ambreen Tariq (she/her), is the Senior Program Director at the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable where she focuses on developing strategies and programming around workforce, rural development, DEIA, state offices of outdoor recreation, and policy advocacy. A non-practicing attorney, Ambreen is also the author of Fatima’s Great Outdoors and the founder of Brown People Camping, an initiative that advocates for greater diversity and equity in the outdoors through storytelling and exploring the root causes of barriers to access. Prior to joining ORR, she served 15 years in federal service including the Department of Labor and the Environmental Protection Agency. Ambreen is based in the Washington, DC area and in her spare time likes to go hiking with her dogs and volunteer as a pro bono attorney in an asylum clinic.
